[ she pales thinking about it, a light layer of ice forms over her tea and melts as soon as it's formed. At least the chill isn't spreading to where it can reach him. ]
A rehabilitation program. [He smiles thinly, as if it's funny but the mirth doesn't reach his eyes.] I assume there's some details to it but I don't have them. Junko's very dead but something of her lived on to infect it.
[Komaeda looks away. Cold rises up all around him. He doesn't want to lose Kirigiri's counsel or respect. But, he had come to be honest with her. He looks directly into her eyes as he replies.]
Those who were influenced by Junko Enoshima. Her Ultimate Despairs.
That's right. [Every one of his class is but the important part is right here.]
I have no intention of repeating that. But it felt unfair not to tell you whenever I felt ready to say so. [His eyes subtly dim as he looks away. His courage only goes so far.] I will understand if you'd rather have nothing further to do with me. Considering what I did during those times. Even if I don't remember it, I am in short, a criminal.
[That's so surprising he jerks his head up to stare at her. Even knowing what he knows of Kirigiri, he always expects the worst. After a moment he hangs his head and shakes it.] Mmm, that's the other reason I'm telling you.
The tree of memories can show lost memories and I've gotten some of them back that way. [He sits up and leans back in the chair as he adds.] I've also been using it to catch what memories I have of techniques taught to me. ...have you done anything with Dunamis?
I am. I took instruction from the trainers in Shaarnath while we had the time. I've been continuing my studies here. Privately. While the classes about it are interesting. I felt there was a bias there that would taint my results.
[Having a similar training to what they're dealing with isn't the same as having the proper training. The one leading the classes here in Verens is too ready to treat the magic they're learning as his own world's. That leads to careless mistakes.]

I think it has numerous uses. I've been using it to strengthen my body and for various tasks. But I do believe it could used to resist a corrupted Arehtei's influence.
Or when several people join their Dunamis together, to even great possibilities. The city of Shaarnath is proof of that. It has a bubble to keep out the surface poison, that's maintained by the people of that city.
There's a lot it could be used for. Possibly even protection against a corrupted Arehtei's rampaging. To far greater degree than the proposed ideas at the town hall meeting.
[ She listens with interest in regard to his self improvement and the positive potential of Dunamis, though this tapers off at the mention of the town hall ]
She and Mukuro both were. Junko did very little. [Considering how they were discussing the incident with the apathy drug. She didn't have to stir the situation at all.]
...if you'd like I can teach you what I know about Dunamis. It's afforded me a level of privacy of thought, I once took for granted.

Is the reason you're telling me this because. . . you were one of them?

Up until this point, you've been helpful and useful. What you may remember later may also prove to be useful as well.
